Perpetual Motion Machine, or Hoax?

In 1717 in Saxony, a former watchmaker made a wheel that was self turning.  Built by Johann Bessler, also known as Orffyreus, one of these wheels was 5 feet in diameter, 6 inches wide, and turned by itself at 50 rpm.  It was hollow, and had a mechanism of rods and levers and pegs in the interior.  It was used to lift a 50 pound weight.  The wheel was started by a light push, and then became self turning. 

Modern physics theory holds that such a device is impossible, and countless inventors have failed to create such a device, but believers still debate the workings of the Bessler wheel.  The reason some credibility is given to the Bessler wheel is that it underwent an experiment under somewhat controlled conditions, and it was never proved a hoax, as were all other contenders in this field. 

As a test, a Bessler wheel of twelve feet diameter was assembled in a room in the castle of Count Karl of Hesse.  There it was examined by a committee of renowned doctors, professors of mechanics, and makers of mathematical instruments.  They verified that there was no external power source, and then gave the wheel a push, and watched it start up, and reach its 26 rpm.  They were not allowed by the inventor to inspect the inner workings of the hollow wheel, but verified that no external power source was driving the machine.  Then they left the empty room, locked the door, and sealed the lock with wax imprinted with each of their seals.  The room was left for 14 days, then opened by the same august committee.  Their wax seal was unbroken, and inside the room, the wheel was churning away at 26 rpm. 

 

The secret of the Bessler wheel was never discovered, and the inventor destroyed all prototypes and refused to disclose its inner workings.  The website besslerwheel.com is dedicated to the history and possible mode of operation of the Bessler wheel.

bettergetter: They are interesting, if not practical. My uncle had a design for a PPM, in which a ferris wheel was place underwater. Air would be pumped down to the tips of the arms, at a 6:01 position. The inflated ballon at the arm tip would cause the arm to rise to the surface, causing the wheel to turn. Somehow the turning would pump air into the arm tip balloons. It was a fun idea, anyway. Bob

Clean energy

The entire world is looking for a source of clean energy. I have discovered a certain paradox basing on which a machine called METOZ can be built which by harnessing the gravitation of our EARTH can produce clean energy.

I am also in possession of a set of calculations which prove that the METOZ machine:
1/ does not consume water / 39 A5-pictures /;
2/ does not consume compressed air / 39 A5-pictures /;
3/ produces energy to the outside = 4 839 kGm during a „swing cycle” /39 A5-pictures /;
/ this is a „weight cycle” = the centre of gravity of the water in the METOZ machine sinks ( downward movement ) /
4/ energy is produced / released to the outside = 44 600 kGm during the „straightening cycle” / 39 A5-pictures /.
/ this is a “pressure cycle” = the water mass centre of gravity inside the METOZ machine travels upwards (upward movement) /
Features: 1/; 2/; 3/; 4/, of the machine owing to appropriate dimensions of individual elements of the lever mechanism.
The METOZ has an even-arm lever of a 1.72 m length. The centre of gravity of the lever lies beneath the lever suspension point. The METOZ is equipped with two cylinders of a 1.6 m diameter each. Piston sidewalls do not contact directly with cylinder walls. The lever swing changes between and .

"METOZ" is able to realize the cycle "deflection" and the cycle "straighening." Both cycles are in accordance with current physic's laws. "METOZ" as machine can not work and hand over the energy because it would be inconsonant to the law of conservation of energy.
I propose to execute the following intelectual process:
we have found ourselves in the Europe of XVII century. We know the trigonometry in the scope of being occured for "METOZ." We know what is the even-arm lever and moment of force too. Just appeears Mr. Baise Pascal / 1623--1662/ and he publishes his hydraulics law with adequated experiment. All thinkers are sure that this law is correct and quite real. This time someone invents machine "METOZ". Now turn up the following questions:
1/ why the implementation of the cycle "deflection" is impossible?
2/ why the implementation of the cycle "straightening" is impossible?Both groups: opponents and followers of bulding "METOZ" live in XVII--th century and they not know that:
a/ the idea of an "energy" will be introduced into science scarlerly in mid. of XIX century,
b/ the law of conservation of the energy will be exist scarlerly after 1847 y.

A perpetual motion machine using gravity is possible if a way could be found to selectively turn off gravity.

It works like this: A wheel with weights turns. In the 6:00 o'clock position anti-gravity devices turn off gravity. It's turned on again in the 12:00 o'clock position. Neat.

Energię można tworzyć. Na przeszkodzie stoi fanatyczna wiara polskich naukowców w dogmat fizyki nazywany prawem zachowania energii. Naukowcy nie chcą wykonać tego doświadczenia, ponieważ nie jest ono opisane w literaturze naukowej a pozytywny jego wynik nie byłby zgodny z w / w. dogmatem o energii. Proponuję następujące postępowanie: osoba wskazana przez adresata zakupuje taką wagę w jakimś sklepie . Adresat poleca wykonać takie doświadczenie osobie, która nie będzie powiadomiona o celu przeprowadzenia doświadczenia. Następnie należy zaprosić jakiemuś naukowca i pokazać mu komplet tych obrazków.
Prawdopodobnie ten naukowiec będzie twierdzić , że ostatni obrazek jest fałszem. Należy przeprowadzić doświadczenia w jego obecności i zapytać go co on o tym sądzi. Of course the wheel was a hoax, obviously: the laws of physics prove it. It is a shame the examiners missed how the energy was being added to the machine. I suspect it was compressed air, since that was the method other hoaxers used.
